Howdy fire folks I have begun planning another staff workshop for april 28
if anyone can make it let me know or if there is a better date for it.
I will start with a warm up and then for those who took my last workshop I like to do a review of some of the things we covered
we will be working this time with the figure 8 series and variations, helicopter throws and bumps, advanced partner throws ( 1 rotation, helicopter, tomahawks, turn transfers ) we will be working a little with blindfolds as well.
there will be a short potluck in the middle of sessions

Wed, March 21, 2007 - 3:12 PMDeclan's definitely not ready for fire...even he thinks so! If this class is significantly more advanced than the previous class and "over his head", that's fine. If there are parts he could do, but not all, would you consider him coming for a portion of the class at a reduced fee? I'd happily bring him to the whole thing, but don't want him holding anyone else up. -

Are you goin to make this part of our workshop? I have Pete teachin Poi, Lara's doin fire hoops, Lee's goin to do fingers/fans, Daniel's goin to do fire eating, juggling, and possibly staffs if we dont have you do it. Let me know asap so we can start promoting it and getting registration set up. -

All the ongoing classes will be starting in May.
Also, we are putting together a HUGE workshop with some excellent instructors in coincidence with Richards class here on the 28th;>
So there will be his staff portion, safety, fire eating, poi, fire hoops, fans/fingers & choreography and fire breathing (not for newbies)..im getting it all together now with all the instructors schedules and such. Registration and fliers will be posted soon ,so keep your eyes open...the workshops will fill up Fast! -

Tue, April 24, 2007 - 6:50 PMim going and may be able to help find a space. there are a few warehouse folks around that i can ask. also spring 4th has tons of space though usually has stuff going on sunday nights there. how much space do we need? i have a friend with a HUGE backyard..hell yea...i didnt even think about that. their place is perfect depending on how many folks will be there and how long it lasts.... -

I regret to say those who want to take my workshop will have one last chance to take it on may 26th. After this workshop my very last is in virginia and then i go north for the summer. So if you have a chance at all come check it out.

Mon, May 21, 2007 - 10:30 AMYes , I HAD hoped that it would be a big one with alot of fire arts since I had Alot of people interested in taking various classes. However, when I had the meeting for Instructors...TWO showed up. Never heard from the rest and Im not able to do this by myself. The hopes was to be that this would be a Community workshop bringing the Atlanta Fire folks closer with other fire performers from around here..and teaching each other new skills while instructing up and coming fire newbies;>
Unfortunately...I didnt get enough support from the community to fund this. Barry and Lara teach the hooping workshops at Jai Shanti..I teach fire safety / fearless fire eating and tribal dance w/ fire combos, several teach poi...Matt will most likely teach ya some rope dart if you contact him!
On that note..it was a grand idea that didnt flourish in time. Maybe I'll try again before I move..but doubtful with Trans coming up:> -

Where are you driving from Asheville?? Dont know if Sarah's in Marietta or my place is closer. Either way I have taken an interest in the staff and would like to come and learn....
